A high-ranking Russian general has been declared dead following an explosion in Moscow, according to official statements.
The incident occurred on Monday morning when an IED concealed beneath a vehicle exploded, causing the death of Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov.
Sarvarov served as the head of the armed forces' unit responsible for operational readiness.
Authorities indicated that one line of inquiry involves the potential involvement of Ukrainian intelligence services. So far, Ukraine has remained silent.
