The loved ones of teens unaccounted for after a devastating blaze at a bar in a Swiss winter destination are confronting an excruciating wait for confirmed information and appealing for any details about their children online.

The fire devastated the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the small hours of New Year's Day. Verified video depict the roof structure igniting as beverages with sparklers are held aloft.

Officials have warned that it could take an extended period to formally name the those who perished of the fire, which claimed the lives of 40 people and injured another over a hundred. Authorities said on the latest update that 113 of the injured have been accounted for, with efforts ongoing to locate the other six.

In the interim, families and friends have been using online platforms to appeal for any news about their friends who were in attendance that fateful night.

Desperate Searches for the Missing
