Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities announced on late Wednesday. The fighter was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
His release from the hospital comes as the sports world offered condolences for the fighter in the following the terrible crash.
